The house is located in El Cuarton, in the province of Cadiz, Southern Spain. El Cuarton is between Tarifa and Gibraltar, just off the main Cadiz to Malaga road (the N340). The location can be viewed on google maps.

Tarifa and beaches

The house is ten minutes drive from the town of Tarifa. The old part of the town has many cafés, bars and restaurants. Outside the town are beautiful beaches (among the world's top 10 beaches, according to Condé Nast Traveller), famous for wind surfing and kite surfing.

The Alcornocales

The Alcornocales national park is a short walk from the house. An ancient cork forest, it is a place of outstanding beauty.

About 45 minutes drive from the house is Gibraltar, famous for its apes and duty free shopping.

Algeciras is the busiest port in Spain, and most of it is a working city rather than tourist attraction. However, it does have a pretty central square with a traditional tilework fountain and cafés. There is shopping in town, and a number of out of town supermarkets, shopping centres and industrial estates.

Car / passenger ferries to Tangiers leave from Tarifa and take about half an hour.
